Stoyan Ganev received his B.M. diploma from the National Conservatory of Music in Sofia, Bulgaria in May 2003 as a jazz double bassist and bass guitarist. He further extended his studies as a UNLV scholarship receiver as a jazz studies major (B.M.) with Prof. Tom Warrington.
In 2004, the Film scoring department at the Berklee College of Music granted Mr. Ganev the Grand Scholarship Aid, one of the highest honors offered at that school. He also graduated from the film scoring class of Mr. Johnny Pate, a distinguished composer, arranger and producer
His professional experiences include several appearances on National TV in Bulgarian jazz programs, a rich experience as a club musician as well as a part of numerous jazz formations( duets, trios, quartet, quintets, etc.) He was hired as a bassist for the prestigious lounges of numerous hotel venues, such as The Sheraton Hotel, Hilton Hotel, Kempinsky-Zografsky Hotel, The Four Seasons, among others. Mr. Ganev also toured extensively as a part of the improvisational setting of the "La Strada" theatre all over Europe in many countries, some of which include Germany, The Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium. In his free time he also helps students interested in the fields of improvisation, theory, composition, film scoring, and performance methods.
Mr. Ganev would like to offer his experience to students who wish to explore the art of the bass guitar and double bass and help them excel and develop themselves. He is capable of offering his knowledge in theory, composition, improvisation, and film scoring.
